Ashwagandha: A Perfect Complement

Ashwagandha has become increasingly popular in recent years, and for good reason. This evergreen plant, hailing from Asia and Africa, has a wide variety of health benefits associated to it. This article will explore these benefits in more detail and explain the exciting new product we are introducing!

A Brief History

Ashwagandha is one of the most important herbs used in traditional alternative medicine practices - primarily in an Indian based methodology called Ayurveda.

It is native to parts of Asia and Africa, and has been mentioned in texts dating back 3,000 - 4,000 years. It is even believed Alexander the Great utilized Ashwagandha to make wine and provide his troops with energy and vigor.

Benefits of Ashwagandha

As I mentioned - there are several amazing benefits of Ashwagandha. And as it continues to gain popularity, more and more benefits are being discovered. For the purposes of this article, we will explore the most well-known and proven benefits. As more information comes out, we will be sure to update the article accordingly!

Reduce Anxiety and Stress

Potentially its most well-known benefit, Ashwagandha is known to be a great anti-anxiety / stress reducer. It is classified as an "adaptogen", which helps the body cope with stress. There are multiple studies supporting these benefits, which can be read in more detail here and here.

Heart Health

Are you familiar with VO2 max? Its essentially the maximum amount of oxygen a person can use during intense activity. Its one of the measurements utilized to determine heart and lung health. Low VO2 max is associated with increased mortality risk, while higher VO2 max is associated with a lower risk of heart disease.

There are 5 studies that show Ashwagandha significantly enhanced a persons maximum VO2.

May Reduce Blood Sugar Levels

A review of 24 studies found that treatment with Ashwagandha significantly reduced blood sugar, hemoglobin A1c, blood lipids, oxidative stress markers, and insulin.

As with most benefits, more research is always required, but the 24 studies are very encouraging as to the diabetic benefits associated with taking Ashwagandha.

Anti-Inflammatory

Inflammation is becoming increasingly associated with poor health. There are times, such as a virus or an injury, where you want inflammation. But inflammation is becoming more and more prevalent in daily lives, due to poor habits, foods, etc. This kind of inflammation is being linked to more diseases and deaths than ever before.

Ashwagandha is a strong anti-inflammatory. Studies show that taking Ashwagandha daily greatly reduces inflammatory marker counts in a persons body. In addition, one such study specifically tested COVID-19 patients, and showed reduced inflammatory marker counts compared to a placebo.

Brain Function

Studies suggest Ashwagandha has a positive impact on cognitive funtion, including short and long-term memory, attention span, and information processing speed.

There are studies that have specifically targeted certain populations, such as older adults and those with mild cognitive impairment.

In addition, Ashwagandha has shown to have high anti-oxidant properties that target oxidants in the brain, leading to better brain health.

Other great benefits:

  • Increases muscle and strength
  • Boost fertility and testosterone levels in men
  • Balance hormones in women
  • Sharpens focus and memory
  • Improves thyroid function

The Perfect Complement

As you can see, Ashwagandha has significant health benefits, with more emerging every year. And as you already know, Elderberry has significant health benefits as well. But the best part? They both target different areas.

Sure, there is some overlap, such as heart health and anti-inflammatory benefits. But can you ever get too much of those?

While Elderberry primarily targets immune health, upper respiratory health, allergies, and acts as an anti-viral - Ashwagandha benefits the brain, lung function, and relieves stress.

Put the two together, and you have powerful herbs that benefit so many parts of the body. They perfectly complement each other, and the best part - its 100% ALL NATURAL!

With this, we are excited to announce a new tea, that combines the many benefits of Ashwagandha and Elderberry.

Introducing - Mind, Body, and Soul. A perfect blend of Ashwagandha and Elderberry.
